The second annual NPC Heartland Natural Classic Bodybuilding and Figure Show was supposed to be held on April 25, 2009. We were excited to be offering natural competitors in the Midwest the opportunity to compete on an NPC stage to showcase their physiques. We were implementing many ideas to make this show the biggest and best natural show in the Midwest.
Some ideas include:
- Promoting NPC Natural Bodybuilding and Figure Competitions.
The growth of Natural bodybuilding competitions is growing at a fast rate within the United States and is attracting competitors, who wish to compete drug free, to other bodybuilding federations. It is was our intention to limit this exodus and improve the opportunity for natural competitors to be recognized and rewarded for their efforts within the NPC organization. The NPC is the largest bodybuilding, fitness, and figure organization in the United States. This show would have been a National Qualifier for Bodybuilding and Figure. The top two in each bodybuilding class would have been eligible to compete in any NPC National event. The top three in each figure class from this competition would have been eligible to compete in any National Level NPC event and the top five are eligible to compete in any Jr. National Level NPC competition. Eligibility is good for two years. All bodybuilders who would have competed in this show will be eligible to compete in the Team Universe Championships and the Teen and Masters Nationals and vie for Pro status within the IFBB.
.
All bodybuilders and figure competitors would have had to pass a thorough polygraph exam to verify that they have not used any illegal performance enhancing drugs since April 25, 2008.
- Give New Competitors an Opportunity to Compete.
Some competitors may be intimidated to step on stage with seasoned veterans. We wanted to expand our sport and attract new competitors to the stage. We were going to offer a Novice Class which would only be open to first time bodybuilding competitors and to those who have not placed first or second in their weight classes in previous bodybuilding competitions. Novice Class competitors would also be allowed to compete in the Open Class competition if they so desire.
- Competitors Come First.
It was our intent that the people who compete in this show would be provided the best treatment and facilities to showcase their physiques. From backstage assistance to photographs of them on stage, everyone will be treated with dignity and respect. We had some exciting awards and trophies to reward your achievements!
- Attract More Competitors, Audience Members, and Sponsors.
If our ambitions succeed, we were confident that we could expand the number of competitors seeking to compete in this natural show each year. It was also our goal to expand the audience base beyond just friends and families of competitors in attendance. Major sponsorships would have been solicited and their involvement with the sport of natural bodybuilding would have been equally been rewarded and recognized.
- Provide an Entertaining Show.
We were proud to present IFBB Pro Bodybuilder Chris "The Hawaiian Hurricane" Faildo as our featured guest poser for our 2009 show! In addition to showcasing guest posers we were also hoping to provide other types of attractions to entertain the audience throughout the evening. Our 2008 show provided exciting entertainment for all.
- Expand the Reach of the Show.
We were looking to attract natural competitors from throughout the Midwest region. We have selected the “NPC Heartland Natural Classic” as our show name because it represents the core of our desire to attract the best natural competitors from throughout the Heartland of the United States.
- Create a Show Website.
This website would have helped showcase our natural competitors, promote our sponsors, and be an avenue to attract new competitors, audience members, and sponsors to our event. Overall winners have profile pages devoted to them which includes a biography and photos.
- Date of Show.
Our show was scheduled for April 25, 2009.
